Learn Pennsylvania Edible Plants

I love photographing nature and have released my book, Pennsylvania Edible Plants.

“You can learn 27 edible plants pretty quickly in the Pennsylvania edible plants book, because I picked the most common, interesting and easy to identify wild edible plants that you will find in Pennsylvania, and along most of Eastern United States”.

I think it is more important that you learn just a few plants at a time, and actually eat them. Most field guides have several hundred plants in them, and actually tend to confuse and overwhelm the reader.

AJ’s Bug Book! Kids love it!

A little boy opened the eyes of his Grandma to the wonders of insects and spiders while looking at nature photos.

While visiting me one day, my grandson AJ wanted to look at “Grandma’s photos”.

Instantly he LOVED looking at the Bugs – spiders, butterflies, caterpillars, etc.

And this gave birth to “AJ’s Bug Book”!

AJ and I are sharing 31 of our favorite insect and spider photos with you and your children (and grandchildren) to enjoy. All are in full color so you can see the amazing detail of these creatures!

This photo was taken in the Southwestern PA mountains near Linn Run State Park.

I took this photo in our back yard after a recent snow storm. These little cones stood up against all sorts of wind, rain and snow. No wonder they are good luck! They can withstand many “misfortunes”.

Now for a really unique looking cover.
We have an Eqyptian Goose, who happened to spend about seven months with us at our local river park here in Connellsville, PA.

She let us feed her by hand, and we even got to pet her a few times!

We named her Fred (we didn’t realize he was a she until after the name “stuck” with her.)

She even let me close enough to get this gorgeous profile of her!
